The Medical City UNT/TCU Orthopaedic Surgical Residency Program has as its primary mission to train doctors to become excellent orthopaedic surgeons. The program places a large focus on building clinical competence and confidence from day one. This is accomplished by a strong academic schedule including conferences, journal clubs, simulation labs, etc., as well as a high-volume and diverse operative experience. Residents are an integral part of patient care and are trained to become experts in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. Overnight orthopaedic call is taken from home and protected academic time is strictly followed, as resident education is priority number one for the program. Research opportunities abound as well and there is access to a large database and help from research faculty. This program strives to produce residents that all of its faculty and alumni will be proud to say trained here.
